Lourdes is a graduate of Life College of

MYOFASCIAL
Lourdes also has a degree in Early Childhood
Development from West Chester
University and is currently working on her pediatrics chiropractic certification.
Myofascial release refers to the manual massage technique for stretching
the fascia and releasing bonds
between fascia and muscles and bones, with the goal of eliminating the
body. The fascia is manipulated, directly or indirectly,
allowing the connective tissue fibers to reorganize themselves into a
more flexible, functional fashion.
Fascia is located between the skin and the underlying structure of the
muscle and bone, it is a seamless web of connective tissue that
recovers and connects the muscles, organs, and skeletal structures in
our body. Muscle and fascia are united forming the myofascia
system. Injuries, stress, inflammation, trauma, and poor posture can cause
restriction to fascia. Since fascia is an
interconnected web, the restriction or tightness to fascia at a place,
with time can spread to other places in the body
like a pull in a sweater. The goal of myofascial release is to release
fascia restriction and restore its tissue health.

Trainer Philosophy:
I believe that no matter what your lifestyle or goals are, there is a need for training with weights. Lifting weights has been associated with bodybuilding for too long. Weights are not just for athletes. I use weight training and other modalities to correct postural distortions, build or regain strength, and enhance movement and mobility. All of these combine to help people live the life they would like to lead. Aging gracefully doesn't mean taking it lying down.
