When I first walked into Physique Magnifique
in June 2006, I weighed 280 pounds and got winded just going up a flight
of stairs. What's more, I hadn't participated in any athletic endeavors
for over 17 years. After a year of cardiovascular training, strength training
and nutritional advice with Futaba and Jim, I was 40 pounds lighter and
completed the Bay to Breakers in May of 2007. I couldn't have done it
without the excellent training I received at Physique Magnifique.

When I started training with Futaba, I had never been in a gym before and had no idea what the different machines were for, or how to use them. I was out of shape, overweight, had a history of knee, shoulder, wrist, and back problems-- some of them chronic-- and now my feet had started to hurt.
Tired of feeling older than my years, I was motivated but apprehensive, afraid that I would injure myself again. Thanks to Futaba's guidance, that never happened. Instead, I got stronger, my various aches and pains gradually disappeared, and I dropped pounds and inches (from a snug size 14 to a comfortable size 10). Futaba tailored the training to accommodate and strengthen my weak joints, gave me helpful feedback on my eating habits, and very patiently explained as much of the principles behind the exercises as I was interested in and able to process. Working with such an excellent trainer has made my introduction to strength training more positive than I could ever have imagined.
I am not about to stop now!
